    Unwritten Letters

To the ones I never sent— the words that stayed folded in my desk, the confessions that never left my lips, the gratitude that arrived too late. I have written you a thousand times. In my mind, the letters are perfect: every word chosen with care, every sentiment precisely calibrated. But the paper remained blank, and the moment passed, and now you are memories addressed to nowhere. I wonder sometimes if you felt them anyway— if words have weight even when unspoken. Perhaps in some other world, my letters reached you. Perhaps you read them by lamplight and understood. But in this world, I am learning a harder lesson: that love unexpressed is love unlived. So I write again tonight, not to the past, but to the present— to the ones still here, still listening, still waiting for words that I no longer hold back.
