    A system for preserving and organizing historical documents with semantic search capabilities.

    This project was born from a simple frustration: historical documents are often locked away in formats that make them impossible to search meaningfully.

    The Digital Archive System uses modern NLP techniques to extract meaning from scanned documents, letters, and manuscripts. Users can search not just for keywords, but for concepts and themes.

    Key features include:

    • OCR with handwriting recognition
    • Semantic search powered by embeddings
    • Automatic categorization and tagging
    • Export to multiple formats
    • Collaborative annotation tools

    The system is currently being used by three academic institutions to digitize their archives.
